Remember the days when the president of the United States issued a press release with a prayer-filled and otherwise unremarkable Easter message? However you feel about President Donald Trump, you won't be surprised to learn he broke that mold.

On Easter, while Christians around the globe celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Trump took to social media. And he wrote about the war in Iran.

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!" Trump wrote in the April 5 post on Truth Social. "Open the F------ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!" The president signed off his message, "Praise be to Allah."

He was referencing a deadline of 8 p.m. Tuesday by which he says Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face total devastation. The president doubled down on the Tuesday deadline and threat in a press conference Monday where he said Iran could be “taken out in one night."

The presser was meant to recount the rescue of a US service member from inside Iran this weekend. Many were worried that the downed plane and two service members trapped inside Iran would lead to a high-stakes hostage situation, but the rescue avoided that.

Trump added during the press conference that the U.S. and Iran are in negotiations to end the conflict. The president said Iran is an “active, willing participant” in negotiations to potentially end the war.

Meanwhile, he continues to threaten to bomb the electrical grid and other key points of infrastructure that would devastate the civilians in the country.

On that front, Trump claimed the Iranian people want the US military to bomb them.

“We’ve had numerous intercepts, ‘Please keep bombing.’ Bombs that are dropping near their homes, ‘Please keep bombing. Do it.'" Trump said in the press conference. "And these are people that are living where the bombs are exploding. And when we leave and we’re not hitting those areas, they’re saying, ‘Please come back, come back, come back."
