Officers with the New Orleans Violent Crime Abatement Investigation Team make a huge narcotics bust in Central City just days before Hurricane Zeta hit the city.

On Tuesday, NOPD special agents served a search warrant at a home in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.

Inside, agents found two semi-automatic firearms, one with an extended magazine; illegal narcotics including crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana; measuring scales commonly used in the distribution of illegal narcotics and cash.

Agents arrested Tyrell Bailey and Tyone Reed in connection with the narcotics investigation.

An NOPD media release says, “Both were booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. Bailey was booked for possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Reed was booked with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana and with possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics. Reed was also booked on a charge of aggravated assault in connection with a separate incident.”
