The New Orleans Police Department says they have arrested 37-year-old Gregory Davis and 30-year-old Dwan Harris in the investigation of three armed robberies in the Eighth District, one of which included attempted murder.
The alleged incidents happened at the following locations according to NOPD.
April 17, at about 11:54 a.m. in the 700 block of Girod Street.
April 17, at about 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of Frenchmen and North Rampart streets.
April 18, at about 1:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Burgundy Street.
During these incidents, the men allegedly targeted female pedestrians, pointed a gun to their heads, and then stole the victims’ purses or carry bags. During the incident in the 100 block of Burgundy Street, one of the suspects reportedly fired a single shot near the victim’s head shortly before the victim fell to the ground.
Through the investigation, NOPD says Eighth District detectives developed and positively identified Davis and Harris as the perpetrators in these incidents and obtained warrants for their arrests each on three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted murder.
