Two men facing child pornography charges

A pair of New Orleans men are facing serious child pornography charges after investigators with the state found out the men were using social media to share videos of children as young as infants and toddlers being molested.

Ernell Banks and Matthew Fahm were arrested on Tuesday and made their first appearances Wednesday in an Orleans Parish court.

Banks is facing 40-counts of child pornography.  Fahm is looking at 25 counts.  However, Magistrate Commissioner Robert Blackburn only found probable cause with six counts each and set bond at $12,000 for each defendant.

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crime Unit received a Cybertip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in July.

Agents executed a search warrant at defendant Banks home in Gentilly on Tuesday.  Broadcast reports say Banks gave a statement to agents stating that he “recalls sending the video of child pornography to another Snapchat user.”
