Saints players report for mandatory minicamp today. Now is the time when the Saints start laying the foundation for the 2026 season.
"It's all about big picture," said Voice of the Saint Mike Hoss. "Scheme install; fundamentals, because you can't do any of that during the regular season. You just don't have the time; and then physical fitness for training camp."
The 2026 season will be the first one that starts with Tyler Shough under center. So what is the next step for Shough?
"To me, the next step for Tyler Shough is to take some pressure off of Tyler Shough. Get a run game. Do some things with some weapons that will take pressure off him, because teams have had nine games to look at him, now," Hoss said. "The run game, depth at offensive line, running back is a crucial factor for the team this year."
This offseason workout session is mandatory, but don't expect to see long-time fixtures like Cam Jordan or Taysom Hill, as both are without contracts and officially free-agents.
