Imagine you are a student sitting in class, in the middle of your exam, and you look out of your classroom window and spot a four-and-a-half-foot alligator strolling across your school's campus.
That is exactly what happened to kids and teachers at Slidell High School this morning. According to the Slidell Police Department, it happened around 10:00 a.m. while class was in session.

The Slidell Police School Resource Officer on campus was alerted to the alligator which made its way across campus.
The officers contained the gator for about 30 minutes while Slidell Police Animal Control arrived to wrangle the wild reptile.

Animal Control Officer, Emily Spohrer, safely wrangled the four-and-a-half foot alligator and turned it over to Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.
All precautions were taken during the incident to ensure no students were in danger. Slidell police say warrants have been issued for the gator if the alligator returns.
