Sewerage and Water Board says repairs made to a hydrant caused the low water pressure to spread through out an area of the city from the point of the repair work at City Park Avenue and Allard Blvd.
SWB initially informed residents in a tweet around 11am, saying it would take about 1-2 hours to fully complete the repairs.
By 12:30 SWB said they'd completed the repairs and water pressure should be returning to normal.
The SWB later admitted that the water pressure drop affected more people than they had originally expected and the fragility of the infrastructure has caused delays.
