CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS: What's shutting down under winter storm threat

With sub-freezing temperatures and possible snow, sleet, and ice in the forecast, here is a parish-by-parish list of what closing or canceling during next week's forecast winter storm:

STATE GOVERNMENT:

All state of Louisiana offices will close on Tuesday, January 21

ORLEANS PARISH:

Citywide trash and recycling collection is suspended on Tuesday, January 21. The sanitation dept. will provide updates on when collection will resume.

New Orleans City Hall will be closed Tuesday, January 21

Orleans Parish Criminal District Court will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.

Orleans Parish Civil District Court will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.

New Orleans public schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21

Nunez Community College will operate remotely on Tuesday, January 21

The University of Holy Cross will operate remotely on Tuesday, January 21. The physical campus will be closed, but virtual classes will take place.

JEFFERSON PARISH:

All Jefferson Parish Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 21

All Jefferson Parish government facilities will be closed Tuesday, January 21

Jefferson Parish has canceled its 38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade and banquet on Monday, January 20

All Kenner city offices will be closed Tuesday, January 21 and its Martin Luther King Jr. ceremony and march is postponed

Kenner is suspending residential trash pickup on Tuesday, January 21 and will monitor the weather forecast for Wednesday, January 22

First Parish Court of Jefferson Parish will close on Tuesday, January 21 and will resume normal operation on January 22

PLAQUEMINES PARISH:

Plaquemines Parish School System offices and schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.

ST. BERNARD PARISH:

St. Bernard Parish Government offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21. The meeting of the Planning Commission that day has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 23

All St. Bernard Parish Public Schools and offices will be closed Tuesday January 21. While Tuesday is already a student holiday, the scheduled professional development day for staff has been canceled

ST. CHARLES PARISH:

All St. Charles Parish Government buildings, including the parish courthouse, will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH:

St. John the Baptist Parish Government Offices and Buildings including the courthouse will be closed on Tuesday, January 21

ST. TAMMANY PARISH:

St. Tammany Parish government will be closed on Tuesday, January 21

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools has announced it will close on Tuesday, January 21, and will provide updates about Wednesday when they receive more information

TANGIPAHOA PARISH:

Southeastern Louisiana University will transition to remote work and classes for Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22.

Tangipahoa Parish School System officials have announced that all schools and district offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22.

TERREBONNE PARISH:

Terrebonne Parish government offices and public schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21

WASHINGTON PARISH:

Washington Parish Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21
