An attempted car theft in Central City turned into a shooting, and New Orleans police are searching for the two suspects involved in the incident.
Police say it happened around 6:40 a.m. Sunday on Carondelet Street near Washington Avenue.
Investigators say the victim, a woman, was returning to her apartment when two masked men tried to steal her car. During the attempted car theft, one of the suspects shot the victim. The shooting spooked the suspects, causing them to run away from the scene. The victim then ran into her apartment, where she called authorities.
Police did not disclose the victim’s condition.
