As if we needed something else to be mad about during the pandemic, Domino's Pizza is cutting the number of chicken wings customers get in their order. Here's the catch: They're keeping the price the same.

The pizza chain said it would be keeping the price of its wings at $7.99, while cutting the number of wings from 10 to eight.

The cut to the orders comes as food and labor costs continue to rise. Allison shared that another change will have the wings only be available online, so customers can't call in an order for them anymore.

Richard Allison, Domino's CEO, shared the company is preparing for "unprecedented increases" in food prices.

He explained that the cost of the company's ingredients is increasing 8% to 10% compared to last year. The CEO said that Domino's usually sees a hike of 3% to 4%.

The decision to make the wings an online exclusive has "several benefits," Allison added. He explained that the more people order online, the higher the average bill is. Other benefits include fewer workers needed to answer the phone and take orders.

Customers will have time to adjust and start to cut back on their wings with the changes set to take effect in a couple of weeks.
