OXFORD (WWJ) -- There are now four Oxford High School students dead following Tuesday afternoon's mass shooting, all identified by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Tuesday night, authorities said Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Tate Myre, 16, and Hana St. Juliana, 14, were the three students who had their lives taken when a 15-year-old sophomore opened fire in the school with a 9mm pistol.
On Wednesday, Oakland County Undersheriff McCabe announced a fourth student fatality: Justin Shilling, 17, who died late Wednesday morning at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
Shilling, a senior, is remembered as funny, a gentleman and a "ladies man," according to his friends.
The Oakland County prosecutor said homicide charges will be filed quickly against the suspect, alleged to be a 15-year-old classmate. In the meantime, more is being learned about the victims and their achievements.
Juliana, a freshman, is the youngest victim. She was a member of the Oxford volleyball team and was listed as a leading scorer at a game back in March.
Tate Myre, a junior with a 3.9 GPA, died in a patrol car on the way to the hospital. A college football recruit, Myre was honored in February with a regional football award by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association as a linebacker and tight end on the school's football team.
On Wednesday morning, more than 35,000 people signed a petition online to rename the school’s stadium after Myre.
The oldest victim was Madisyn Baldwin, a senior, who was expected to graduate next year. She had been accepted to several colleges, some with a full scholarship. Friends described her as passionate about academics and an artist who loved to draw, read and write.
Baldwin was the eldest of three siblings -- a half-brother and two sisters she loved dearly.
Seven other students were wounded in the mass shooting, along with one 47-year-old teacher.
Three students have gunshot wounds that left them in critical condition—a 14-year-old who is breathing via a ventilator following intensive surgery, along with a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old who were both shot in the head.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that it's evident the lockdown protocols the school had in place saved lives.
"My heart aches for families that will never be the same and a quiet sweet community that had its innocence shattered."
