John Schneider, an actor known for his role as Bo Duke on “The Dukes of Hazzard” has had an eventful few years. His Livingston Parish studio was damaged in Hurricane Ida, he went viral for comments about Alec Baldwin, he won second place on “The Masked Singer” and now, he’s being investigated by the Secret Service.

According to WVUE, the U.S. Secret Service is investigating a now-deleted X post from Schneider. Deadline also reported on the investigation. It was a response to an X post from President Joe Biden about former President Donald Trump, currently the frontrunner to be the GOP presidential candidate in 2024.

“Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America’s standing in the world,” said Biden. “But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.”

Schneider had just won second place on the Fox show “The Masked Singer” when he responded, said the Daily Beast. NE-YO won first place, according to People magazine.

“Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too,” Schneider wrote at 9:02 p.m., WVUE reported, with a screenshot included.

Back in 2021, Audacy reported on other social media comments Scheider made that garnered attention following the fatal shooting incident on the set of “Rust” involving Alec Baldwin. He expressed doubt about Baldwin’s claim that he didn’t pull the trigger.

This year, Schneider dealt with tragedy when he lost his wife to breast cancer, People said.

“The Secret Service is aware of the comments made by Mr. Schneider, and as a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence,” a spokesperson for the Secret Service confirmed to WVUE regarding his Wednesday post. “We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees.”

Schneider provided a comment on the issue to multiple news outlets by Thursday.

“Seriously, folks? This is my final comment on this. I neither said nor implied any such thing,” Schneider said. “Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post, I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president as many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.”
