With events in New Hampshire and South Carolina, former President Donald Trump has officially launched his 2024 campaign for the White House. But this time, he shared with his supporters that he is “more angry” than ever.
“They said, ‘He’s not doing rallies, he’s not campaigning, maybe he’s lost that step,’” Trump said while speaking in New Hampshire at the state’s GOP annual meeting. “I’m more angry now, and I’m more committed now than I ever was.”
Trump was quick to refute any claims that he wasn’t “all in” for the 2024 election, as polls continue to show his main challenger, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, would beat him out in a head-to-head matchup for the Republican nominee. However, DeSantis has yet to make any announcement about the 2024 election.
At his second stop of the weekend Trump shared with the crowd in Columbia, South Carolina, that his campaign would see “huge rallies” that are “bigger than ever before,” The Associated Press reported.
While speaking in South Carolina, Trump was joined by the state’s Sen. Lindsey Graham and Gov. Henry McMaster.
Graham spoke during the event, praising the former president for his work during his time in office and addressing those calling for a new candidate with the same policies as Trump.
“How many times have you heard, ‘We like Trump policies, but we want somebody new.’ There are no Trump policies without Donald Trump,” Graham said from the state’s Capitol building.
With no one else declaring their candidacy for 2024, Trump is currently running unopposed in the Republican party. However, it is still early, and several others, including DeSantis and former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, are expected to rival the former president.
Trump’s appearance in the two states is not by coincidence, as both are early-voting states. However, both crowds were much smaller than he had drawn in his previous presidential runs, with only 200 showing up in South Carolina.
