House Minority Whip Steve Scalise told WWL-TV that he still intends to object to the Electoral College vote that former Vice President Joe Biden won last month, even after violent supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol and forced today's proceedings to a halt.
"A couple days ago, you had said you were not going to confirm the Electoral College vote," said WWL-TV's Devin Bartolotta. "Does that still stand tonight?"

"That's correct," Scalise said. "There's no excuse and no condoning the violence that happened, but we still, we've to get back to work and we've got to do our jobs here."
President Trump has repeatedly claimed, falsely, that election fraud in several swing states that went for Biden cost him the election. He even repeated the claims at a rally in Washington, D.C. this morning before the rioters stormed the Capitol.
