Bullets were flying Sunday afternoon at the mall on the westbank of Jefferson Parish.
"The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a double shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Oakwood Center, 197 Westbank Expressway in Gretna," Captain Jason Rivarde said in an email.
One victim died.
"The shooting has left one man dead and one in critical condition."
The victims were both in the same car.
"Deputies located two victims inside a black Honda Accord. Both were suffering from gunshot wounds."
Rivarde says the shooting happened after an argument.
"Based on the initial investigation, it appears two groups of individuals met on the back (southwest) side of the mall, and an altercation ensued. Multiple shots were fired, and the black Accord relocated to the location where it was recovered."
JPSO is asking for help finding whoever fired the shots.
