Another afternoon of highs in the 80S?

Our mornings are getting cooler, but the afternoons are still warm.

"Expect a nice and quiet day today, with plenty of sunshine. We will be warming up on your Sunday but it wont' feel that humid," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler, who is forecast highs this afternoon in the upper 80s.

"Tonight, we'll see mostly clear skies and temperatures will be cooling off into the 60s heading into tomorrow morning," she said.

So when will we finally get some cooler afternoons befitting the month of October?

"The first real cold front of the season may arrive by next weekend," Alexa teases, telling us that weather models are not in agreement, so it will be a few more days before we know for sure.
