Colder weather to start the week

Weather

Temperatures started falling from the 70s to the 50s Sunday evening.

"Monday starts cold around 40 degrees," WWL TV Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford forecasts. "We'll have a northwest breeze along with sunny skies and a chilly feel in the 50s for Monday afternoon."

She says the impacts of the latest cold front will stick around a couple of days.

"Monday and Tuesday nights will be rather cold. Look for a light freeze north of the lake with low temperatures right at or just below freezing. Southshore low temperatures will be upper 30s to around 40 degrees."

Highs Tuesday afternoon will be in the 60s.

"Wednesday looks beautiful and a tad warmer. High pressure shifts east and allows us to warm to lower 60s in the afternoon."

Cranford says the warming trend continues Thursday and Friday into the 70s.

"Another cold front moves in Friday into Saturday with showers."
