The city of New Orleans is warning drivers about possible dense fog this weekend.
"Prepare for extra travel time & use caution then driving in early AM/PM," the city warned via its NOLA Ready text alert system.
Wildfires smoldering in the region could combine with the fog to reduce visibility even further, similar to conditions that contributed to a 168-car pileup on I-55 Monday morning.
Authorities caution drivers to slow down, eliminate distractions, and never use high beam headlights or hazard lights while driving in fog.
