Tropical Storm Fred has increased slightly as it turns more north-northwest, with a turn to the north expected tonight or early tomorrow.

"On the forecast track, the center of Fred should move across the eastern and northern Gulf of Mexico through Monday, then make landfall in the western Florida Panhandle Monday afternoon or Monday night," said Jack Beven, Senior Hurricane Specialist at the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Fred is not forecast to become a hurricane.

A tropical storm watch is in effect from the Alabama/Florida line of Perdido Key east through Navarre, Florida. A tropical storm warning extends east from Navarre through the Wakulla/Jefferson County, Florida line.

The storm is not likely to have any impact on southeastern Louisiana.
