The cold weather gets even colder after the sun goes down tonight.
"Tonight will be clear and cold with low to mid 30s across much of the Northshore," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "This means you'll want to protect people, pets and plants north and west of our lakes tonight."
He says we could have frost to start Wednesday away from the city.
Today we don't warm up much from the start in the 40s across the region.
"It stays cool in the upper 50 this afternoon."
Malone expects a gradual warm up with rain heading in for the end of the week and the weekend.
"We'll return to the 70s by Thursday ahead of rainy pattern. The timing is always a challenge, but as of now it appears showers and storms will begin heading our way later in the day Thursday and continue overnight. A break from the rain much of the day Friday, then a return for Saturday. Rain continues overnight and wraps early Sunday."
