A line of potentially heavy rain is forecast for late tonight.
"Storms roll in again shortly after midnight and will move out quickly, exiting our region before sunrise," WWL TV Meteorologist Brook Laizer expects. "The severe weather threat will be low end with small hail as a primary concern."
She says the rain ends before frigid air blows in,
"Another surge of Arctic air will be behind this front with temps falling much of the day Wednesday."
Laizer says there will be a hard freeze across the Northshore and potentially areas west of the New Orleans metro Thursday and Friday mornings.
"Protect your pipes in these areas."
The forecast calls for a light freeze on the Southshore.
"The end of this week will be frigid as temperatures remain in the 20s north and 30s south each morning. Afternoon highs will only reach the 40s."
