Hot, humid conditions persist until weekend cool front arrives

The start of the week in New Orleans will be hot and humid, but we will get some relief as we approach the weekend.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the week, as a high-pressure ridge keeps the humidity elevated and temperatures in the 90-degree range. Heat indexes could reach the mid-90s.

A cool front is expected to blow through the region on Friday, brining temperatures for Mother's Day Weekend into the 80s and humidity levels into a more comfortable range. That front, however, could bring rain with it, putting a damper on Mother's Day itself. Here's the full forecast:
