At 11:00pm Sunday, the National Hurricane Center says Ida's winds decreased to 95 miles per hour.
That makes Ida a category one hurricane. It was a strong category four at landfall on Port Fourchon, Louisiana with 150 miler per hour winds.
By midnight the top sustained winds were 85mph.
Ida continued slowly moving through Southeast Louisiana leaving a swath of destruction in its wake.
A damage assessment is set for Monday, and officials say they will launch large-scale search and rescue.
