Afternoon thunderstorms led to the National Weather Service issuing flash flood warnings across the metro area.
New Orleans, along with Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Charles parishes are under a flash flood warning through 6:45 p.m.
New Orleans officials announced drivers may park on neutral grounds as long as they are not blocking traffic or streetcar tracks.
Officials also warn drivers to be wary when driving through underpasses.
