If you are doing anything outside today, you will want at least two things: sunscreen and lots of water.
"Expect a very hot and humid Saturday with plenty of sunshine," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler. "We'll trend mostly dry today, not much rain, but it's really the heat and the mugginess that is the big story this weekend."
The highs on Saturday will climb into the mid-90s, but it's the humidity that will drive heat indices in the 100s.
"It will feel like in the 100s for several hours," Alexa said. "It can feel like up to 105 to 108 degrees this afternoon so make sure you stay cool and drink plenty of water."
