We have more roasting heat in the forecast today. But a better-than-even chance at afternoon rain may help temper the high temperatures.
"We have more extreme heat and humidity on the way this weekend," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler. "Today, though, there is a good chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day."
Temperatures will hit the mid-90s, with heat indices in the triple digits, unless you get one of the rain showers.
Highs Sunday will also reach the mid 90s, but with only a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast, fewer areas will see relief.
