The hot conditions in the New Orleans metro area are only getting hotter.

A heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday (June 14) as heat indices will approach the 110-degree mark. Actual air temperatures will reach the mid- to upper-90s. Some strong storms are possible north of Lake Pontchartrain. A few less-severe storms are possible south of the lake, too.

These hot and humid conditions will persist for the next week to 10 days. If you are going to be outside, make sure you hydrate and take breaks in the shade or in an air-conditioned building.
