Hurricane Ida slammed headlong into Louisiana on Sunday afternoon, and it had no intention of leaving quietly.
After strengthening rapidly throughout the day Saturday, the storm remained at Category 4 with winds topping 130 mph well past 5 p.m., with impacts for much of south Louisiana expected to linger into Monday morning.
That intense wind led to predictable damage, ranging from sheared-off roofs to uprooted trees, torn signs and much more.
