Tropical Storm Gamma made landfall on the Yucatan peninsula around noon today, bringing rain and wind to Cozumel, Cancun, and other towns on the Mexican Caribbean coast.
The storm is expected to emerge over the southern Gulf of Mexico tomorrow, then westward toward the Bay of Campeche.
4 p.m. Saturday - Tropical Storm Gamma's winds are down a bit to 65 mph. The center is over Yucatan. Forecast path is back out over water on Sunday, then a turn to the west thanks to high pressure building over the Gulf. It could then hang in the Bay of Campeche through late week pic.twitter.com/Ptl8X8a2eA

"It look like it will hang in the Bay of Campeche through late week and eventually weaken," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford. "This does not look like it'll be a threat to Louisiana."
