Buddy Guy is synonymous with Chicago Blues. Jimi Hendrix made never before heard sounds on the electric guitar becoming one of the greatest instrumentalists in the history of Rock. Tracy Chapman started her own revolution with her unique blend of Folk, Blues, Rock, Pop and Soul.
Bakar brought London Neo-Soul, Indie Rock to new generations world wide, asking "Will You Be My Yellow?" Bob Marley put Jamaican music on the map as a pioneer of roots Rock Reggae. Stevie Wonder signed his first record contract at just 11 and was one of the most prolific and creative artists of the 70's.  Prince did for Minneapolis what Barry Gordy did for Motown—creating a signature sound, developing new artists and achieving unmatched success. Brittany Howard as lead singer for Alabama Shakes garnered 9 Grammy nominations. Muddy Waters was the father of Modern Chicago Blues. Chicago's own Mavis Staples enjoyed success in The Staples Singers, through a solo career and as a Civil Rights Activist. Eric Burton of The Black Pumas brought Psychedelic Soul to a new generation garnering a Grammy nomination. Lenny Kravitz continues to wow fans with Electric Live Performances for more than three decades now. These are just a few examples of Black Excellence in Rock & Roll.
