Just a week after teasing the news, The Cure have made it official. They'll be throwing their very own festival celebrating the band's 40th anniversary on Saturday, August 31st at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The Pasadena Daydream Festival features a headlining performance from The Cure alongside artists hand-picked by the band. Pixies, Deftones, Mogwai, Throwing Muses, Chelsea Wolfe, The Twilight Sad, The Joy Formidable, and Emma Ruth Rundle are all set to appear at The Cure's festival.

Tickets for the event go on sale May 17th at 2 PM CST via the festival's website. General Admission tickets are priced at $149 (with an additional $1 going to charity) while VIP tickets are available for $299 (with $1 going to charity as well). The fest's website states, "$1 from every ticket sold will go towards music and arts education organizations and local charities, which include Mr. Holland's Opus, Little Kids Rock, Free Arts for Abused Children, Inner-City Arts and The Painted Turtle."

Fans unable to make the trip out to California won't need to hang their head as Smith revealed the band has intentions of touring the United States in 2020."We're already talking about what we're going to do coming back to America next year," Smith said.

The tour will likely coincide with a new album and not focus on The Cure's previous work. "I want to do something with new songs. I want to bring a new show to America rather than do something nostalgic," Smith added.

The Cure are scheduled to headline Austin City Limits festival this October.
