2 firefighters injured while battling a north suburban house fire

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two firefighters were injured battling a north suburban house fire about 3 a.m. Sunday.

The fire happened at a single family home on Warren Street near Grey Avenue in Evanston. It was quickly contained to one bedroom.

The Evanston Fire Department says two residents got out of the house on their own. They were evaluated and then they were taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Two Evanston firefighters did suffer minor injuries, but they remained on the scene.

The cause of the fire in Evanston is being investigated.
