CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A car crash in Englewood Wednesday afternoon sent five people to the hospital - including a Chicago Public Schools Safe Passage worker.
The crossing guard was standing at the intersection of 63rd and Stewart at about 3:45 p.m. when police say a white Infinity hit a red sedan and a light pole.
Police said the worker was hurt by an object as a result of the crash. A witness spoke to CBS 2.
"She flew in the air. She hit the side of her head. It was tragic," a man said. "Really, I hope she's just OK. She didn't really have nothing to do with it."
Cellphone video captured the aftermath of the crash. Car debris and personal belongings were left scattered everywhere, according to CBS 2.
Police said the woman was taken to the hospital in good condition as were two adults from each of the cars. Chicago Police arrested the driver of the Infinity and expect charges soon.
CBS 2 reports police in Riverdale were looking for it after officers in that south suburb recognized it as a stolen vehicle Tuesday at 4 a.m. and tried to pull it over, but police said the driver hit two squad cars before racing away and officers stopped pursuing because of high speeds.
