(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A 21-year-old man from South America is accused of being an accomplice in a west suburban home invasion last week.

Anibal Miller-Valencia’s bond was set at $1.5 million. He faces one count of home invasion and one count of residential burglary.

Police say officers found Miller-Valencia on Friday in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was parked at a forest preserve. Authorities say he was part of a three-man crew that was involved with a break-in on Luthin Road.

Two of the suspect’s accomplices broke the rear glass door of a home and entered. A female juvenile hid behind a door until the two fled into a nearby wooded area. She was not harmed, authorities said.

“I can’t imagine the terror this young victim must have felt when she heard glass breaking and unknown voices in her house while she was home alone,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.

Miller-Valencia is next expected in court on Feb. 6. No further information was available.
