(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Sixth Ward Ald. Roderick Sawyer will stay on the ballot in the Chicago mayoral race that is two months away.
WBBM Newsradio’s Nancy Harty reports a representative of Willie Wilson’s campaign has dropped its challenge.
A day after the campaigns for Sawyer and Wilson argued before the Chicago Board of Elections, a representative for Wilson pulled the challenge to signatures on Sawyer’s petitions.
The alderman is represented by veteran election lawyer Burt Odelso, who predicted the withdrawal. In a statement, Sawyer says he looks forward to having the time and resources to connect with voters.
Earlier this month, Wilson’s campaign also dropped a challenge to the campaign of Ja’Mal Green who then dropped his own challenge against Wilson.
