(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chrome Angelz Rockin’ Rebelz are an all-female motorcycle riding club based in Chicago’s suburbs.
Their mission is to support women both on and off of motorcycles.
That’s why the group is partnering with the nonprofit Cups Bra Drive to collect and donate bras Hessed House in Aurora and DuPage Pads.
“The Chrome Angelz thought [we] could help to organize some more and donate through our off-season since we're not riding a whole lot right now,” said Chrome Angelz Rockin Rebelz president DiDi Foley.
Undergarments and feminine products are some of the least donated -- but most requested -- items at homeless shelters.
“Those things are all expensive,” added Foley. “We might be able to have housing or be able to help take care of our family with food, but then these bras can be like $70 to $100 a pop.”
Close to 500 new and gently used bras will be dropped off at Hessed House and DuPage Pads on March 5.
Those looking to donate before then can reach the Chrome Angelz Rockin Rebelz on their Facebook page or by email at RockinRebelzCARC@gmail.com.
