(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Ascension Healthcare, which operates hospitals, clinics and senior living facilities in the Chicago area and across the country, is reporting a cyber attack.
A statement from Ascension said, “We detected unusual activity on select technology network systems, which we now believe is due to a cyber security event.”
“There has been a disruption to clinical operations.”
Ascension is working with the cybersecurity firm Mandiant.
“Together, we are working to fully investigate what information, if any, may have been affected," Ascension Healthcare added. "Should we determine that any sensitive information was affected, we will notify and support those individuals."
