CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Bally’s opened the doors to its Chicago casino two months ago and revenue from the temporary site has already fallen since then.
In September, Bally’s Chicago earned more than $278,000 a day in profit. Last month, that fell to $245,000 a day. The Medinah Temple site was open all of October, but only 24 days in September.
In that time, the number of daily visits dropped about 20%. The Sun-Times reports the casino will have a challenge meeting revenue goals for this year set by the Lightfoot administration.
When Mayor Johnson was asked by the Times about his confidence in the company making $34 million his budget relies on for next year, he only said they’ll have to do its part to market and deliver.
