This upcoming Tuesday is Veterans Day, a day to honor those who serve, and to protect yourself from fraudsters trying to take advantage of the holiday. Kayla Palmore with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.

On Veterans Day, we thank military veterans for their sacrifice and service, protecting us and our country.

Scammers target veterans and donors to patriotic causes to steal money and personal information.

Common tactics include fake calls impersonating the Veterans Administration, claiming benefit problems, or requesting verification. These scams can cost veterans their benefits and bank savings.

If you’re looking to donate to a Veteran’s cause, go directly to the organization’s verified website to give.
