(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Automobile collectors are the potential customers for a proposed condo development that would feature massive garages.

Developer Tom Burgess was behind Iron Gate Motor Condos on Ferry Road, west of Route 59, which caters to owners of collector and custom cars. It features lavish garage spaces, many of which have been decked out elaborately.

His next venture, he hopes, is building residential units where owners can live and be near their prized automobiles.

Naperville Planning officials have given Burgess permission to build 51 of the hybrid units.

“If it was another town, I don’t think I would do it. In a city like Naperville, it will just add to the fabric of the community,” Burgess said.

He said construction would begin next month if the Naperville City Council approves his project.

Iron Gate Residential will include three different designs, with living space and lots of garage space.

Prices on the condos will range from around $350,000 to $750,000, according to Burgess.
