(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Once again, the city of Chicago is looking for a towering Christmas tree to anchor Millennium Park during the upcoming holidays.

The Lightfoot Administration this week announced the qualifications for submissions in 2022.

For consideration, trees must be:

—at least 45 feet or taller
—located within 50 miles of the Loop
—preferably a Norway Spruce or Fir tree (pine trees are not sturdy enough)

City officials say those who submit a nomination need to provide their address, phone number and email; a brief description why their tree should be the city’s official Christmas tree, including any interesting facts; and two pictures, one close-up and one from a distance.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will accept nomination until Oct. 7 at this email address: dcase@cityofchicago.org.

The Official Christmas Tree will be illuminated at 6 p.m. Nov. 18.
