Chicago theater star Hollis Resnik dies

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago musical theater community is mourning the loss of actress Hollis Resnik.

She was a legend in Chicago and beyond.

She had roles in the hit musicals "Bye Bye Birdie," "Les Miserables," "The Wizard of Oz" and "Sunset Boulevard." The accolades are endless.

Resnik recently went into semi-retirement. She continued working in the theater. A family friend said she died of heart failure.

Hollis Resnik was 66.
