HEBRON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - After 53 years in the family, The Dari in Hebron is facing a new era.

Martha Johnson and Mary Noonan’s last day running The Dari was Sunday. And now, the sisters tell the Northwest Herald, if the sisters find a buyer for the restaurant before spring 2023, they say they plan to retire.

The Dari is at the corner of Routes 47 and 173. The restaurant has been in the family since 1969 when their parents bought what was then a Dari-Delite chain restaurant.

Since then, it’s become a landmark in downtown Hebron.

When their mother died in 1988, the sisters took over, and now customers say they hope whoever buys it doesn’t make too many changes.
