On their wedding day in 2017, one couple not only said "I do" but also "I will" in reference to enjoying a meal from McDonald's before every trip they take. Now the couple is being honored as "McDonald's top fans in all of Chicagoland."
Arelys Alcozar and her husband have been married since 2017, and when they made the unusual promise of eating McDonald's, they had no idea it would lead to becoming the first top fans in Chicagoland.
The title comes from McDonald's Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, who launched a local video contest to find the most loyal McDonald's fan in Chicagoland.
The Alcozar's winning entry included clips of their wedding vows where they made the promise.
"[I promise] to eat McDonald's breakfast sandwiches at the airport before every trip and love you with every fiber of my being," Arelys Alcozar said in her vow.

It then jumped to the West Ridge couple at home with their child enjoying a breakfast sandwich from McDonald's.
The MyMcDonalds Rewards Chicagoland Contest has now awarded the couple $5,000 worth of McDonald's, a one-of-a-kind Big Mac trophy, and an exclusive party for 10 at McDonald's Corporate Headquarters in Chicago's West Loop.
Their party will get a limo ride, an appearance from classic McDonaldsland characters, plus an opportunity to meet the fast-food chain's chefs.
