AMLI Residential has pitched a 56-story mixed-use tower for the northeast corner of Michigan Avenue and Erie Street, according to a newsletter from Ald. Brendan Reilly, 42nd.
The plan calls for 498 residential units and 26,531 square feet of retail located on the ground and second floors. The project also includes 199 off-street parking spaces. It would replace what's currently Nike's flagship store at 669 N. Michigan Ave.
The tower still needs approval from city planners, City Council and Streeterville residents before breaking ground.
The building would be the first new skyscraper built in years on the Mag Mile.
