(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 26-year-old Zion man who was scheduled to have his electronic monitoring device removed Thursday is on the run after officers tried to arrest him on an unrelated warrant.

Deontae Wade’s sentence for a 2020 offense was supposed to be discharged, and he was slated to have his bracelet removed at the Lake County jail, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Correctional officers, however, learned he was wanted on a warrant in McHenry County for attempted homicide.
Wade resisted attempts to be detained, and he fled from the building. Surveillance video released by the sheriff’s department shows him running out the door with an officer in pursuit. It's believed he called a friend to get a ride from the area.
Lt. Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff's Department asks the public to contact authorities if they know of Wade’s whereabouts.
The arrest warrant stems from a shooting that took place on Aug. 29 in McHenry, officials said.
