(WBBM NEWSRADIO) --The Evanston teen who was kidnapped in Israel and released by Hamas earlier this month is now back home.
More than three weeks after she was kidnapped near the border with Gaza, 18-year-old Natalie Raanan is home. Consul General of Israel to the Midwest Yinam Cohen shared the news, but did not say when Natalie’s mother Judith will return.
"Just a couple of hours ago, we got the news that Natalie landed in Chicago and headed back home - together with her family members, who've been anxiously waiting for her to come to Chicago," he told CBS 2.
Cohen encourages people to think about the estimated 239 hostages still being held by Hamas. He said their relatives will be in Chicago this week to discuss what happened to them and call for their release.
