EVANSTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -Swimming has been banned at all Evanston beaches for the third day in a row due to elevated and unsafe bacteria levels, the city said.

The ban will continue Wednesday July 5.

The sand portion of all beaches will remain open. The Evanston Dog Beach will also remain closed today.

Evanston beaches were closed to swimming on Monday and Tuesday, because of unsafe E. coli levels in Lake Michigan.
