(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It’s now been a year since Carol Stream Police were called to the Villagebrook Apartment complex after reports of a violent argument between 30-year-old Isaac Goodlow III and his girlfriend.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office declined to pursue charges against the officer who fatally shot Goodlow, citing bodycam video and claims that he lunged at police who entered his bedroom.

However, Attorney Stephen Hart accuses the county and Carol Stream of making up facts in the case.

“Call it coincidence or happenstance or fortuitous, the body worn camera that was worn by the lead officer who shot and killed Isaac with one bullet to the heart, body worn camera was completely obscured by the ballistic shield.”

Attorneys told reporters that new state testing also found Goodlow did not have gun residue on his shirt, which they say disproves claims he charged at officers.

“It feels like yesterday that it happened because we haven't got the answers that we need. And it's sad that we have to still come here and beg for answers on what happened to Isaac,” Goodlow’s sister Kennetha Barnes said.

A federal civil rights lawsuit in the case is still pending.
