CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Most of the victims of a mass shooting in Back of the Yards this weekend are recovering, but for the families involved the wounds are also emotional because of the death of a 9-year-old girl.
The mother of Ariana Molina is one of ten people wounded in the shooting Saturday night near 52nd and Damen, but she’s unaware that her daughter Ariana was killed.
Jose Molina told CBS-2 he does not know how to share that terrible news.
“I know she’s going to go crazy…She loves her,” Molina said.
He said relatives were gathered to celebrate his sister’s Confirmation Saturday night when the shooting happened.
Police said someone in a black car pulled up and fired at the crowd gathered in the front yard. Among the wounded are a 1-year-old and 8-year-old who were described initially in critical condition.
